FOOTBALL – Redditch Borough women produce stunning injury time turnaround to advance in cup

REDDITCH Borough Women produced a stunning injury-time turnaround to beat Rugby Town 4-3 and advance in the Division One Cup.

Borough trailed by a single goal heading into stoppage time only to stun the visitors with a pair of late goals at Cherry Tree Walk.

Goals from Kathryn Pagan, Millie Connolly-Heath, Violet Pugh and Esther Lau-McKaay helped Borough into the quarter-finals of the competition.

The club’s men’s side also advanced in the Marsh Challenge Cup with a 4-2 victory against Gloucester City Development.

A brace from Charlie Gardiner and goals from Kyle Batchelor and Ben Birch sealed Borough’s place in the next round while substitute Alfie Bloomer saw red.
