Parks and Outdoor
Redditch has over 750 hectares of freely accessible parks, open spaces, allotments, nature reserves, woodlands and landscaped amenity areas – that’s over 1850 acres, or more than a thousand football pitches!
Here are few that you can visit:
Arrow Valley Park
At 900 acres Arrow Valley Country Park is the largest area of open space in Redditch – and it’s not just a beautiful environment, it’s packed full of things to see and do.
The park is set over 2.5 square miles of countryside, between Forge Mill Needle Museum, the protected ancient monument of medieval Bordesley Abbey and the Abbey Stadium to the north and Washford Mill to the south.
The River Arrow meanders through it and together with the 29-acre Arrow Valley Lake there are excellent wildlife habitats as well as great walks and activities.
At the heart of the park is the lakeside Arrow Valley Visitor Centre, which houses a café with panoramic views across the water as well as function and conference facilities, fishing, water sports and other activities, as well as toilets.
The park was created in the 1970s by the Redditch Development Corporation which built Redditch new town, and continues to be a great asset for our community.
Nine car parks serve Arrow Valley Country Park and its various landmarks. Here is a map with details.
Morton Stanley Park
The 95 acres of Morton Stanley Park offer a rich mosaic of natural habitats and things to do, amidst a historic landscape of open mown grass, veteran trees and mature hedgerows.

The park also plays host to the Morton Stanley Festival every August – one of the largest free music and arts events in the region! Since 2004 thousands have been flocking to the park for this packed summer weekend of the best of Redditch’s incredible live music, arts and performances, and with a host of community organisations too.
